Fees when incorporating a company
notary fees: the exact amount of notary fees depend on a number of conditions such as share capital, number of managing directors, number of pages of the documents to be notarised etc. etc. Therefore, it’s not possible to anticipate them in general terms. In standard scenarios we would recommend to consider roughly 800 EUR (net) in fees for incorporating a company in German only, and about 1.000 EUR (net) in case of bilingual incorporation.
registry fee: the trade registry charges a one-off fee of about 150 EUR for the registration of the company. Please note that upon filing of the registration you will most probably receive several fraudolent payment requests styled as if issued by the trade registry court. Never pay such invoices without double-checking and, if you are uncertain, just forward them to us.
taxes: our services and the notary’s services are subject to VAT, which is currently 19% in Germany. Unless you’re acting as a consumer (which is seldom the case, if you incorporate a company) if as an invoice recipient you’re based in another EU member state, we’ll apply the reverse-charge procedure. This means you’ll get an invoice without VAT and will have to declare VAT in your home country. If you’re based in any other country in the world outside of the EU, you’ll get a VAT-free invoice.
